Theme Dance

We bring the dance convention experience to Michigan by providing these swing and country dances with competition quality dance music and high quality dance instruction so that people can have a lot of fun and continue to progress.

The theme - Blues and Country Night!™ is somewhat flexible with a swing and country focus. We put extra emphasis on West Coast Swing and Two-Step, which currently seem to be two of the more popular at dances, plus East Coast Swing, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Polka, and other dances by request and within the theme, such as line dances. Also, many songs are great for several dances, such as Jenifer Paige: Crush - Great for Hustle, West Coast Swing, and Cha-Cha. The mix of dances varies at each dance since we encourage requests. It is not uncommon for us to play about half swing music and the rest country at Blues and Country!™ night.

We offers high quality dance instruction by teachers who explain solid basics and sizzling intermediate moves.

We always have a dance following our lessons with a DJ who encourages you to request your favorite dance music. Our DJ plays all requests in which he has the music (and the request is within the theme), and if he doesn't have the music, he puts the request on his music to purchase list.

With our quality control system for dance music, we play one great dance song after another at each dance. We use a system called the Electronic DJ™, ©1998-2001 Timothy Michael Johnson (AKA DJ Timothy Michael). DJ Timothy Michael, who most people call Tim, has been developing The Electronic DJ™ since April 1998. This DJ tool which is optimized for dances, allows him to choose songs for about 15 minutes out of each hour and then spend the remaining 45 minutes of each hour ensuring that people have a good time by asking what songs they want to hear and by dancing with people of all levels.

\The experienced dancers inspire the beginning dancers. Everyone has a good time. People leave our dances tired.
